Ricardo’s X Mallorie

Well this came out of nowhere… or did it?

From 2022 to 2025 I spent my life on the road as a professional guitar tech. Those years gave me more than I ever expected—friendships that became family, experiences that shaped me, and Nashville becoming a second home. But while touring, something had to give. Between the road, family, church, and side work, I hadn’t built a guitar in over 18 months.

I still wanted to build. I still wanted to serve a community of players. So I made shirts, I stayed present on socials, I kept repairing and sharing—but I knew there had to be more. I had designs, models, and even demand. I just couldn’t do it all alone.

Ricardo and I with the first full prototype.

I had tossed around the idea of outsourcing builds for a long time—U.S. shops, overseas options, even adding employees. Nothing felt right.

Then one day, a Ricardo’s Guitar came across my bench for a setup. I was blown away: the fretwork, the finish, the sheer craftsmanship. I reached out, visited his Nashville shop, and was immediately welcomed by one of the kindest humans I’ve met. After hours of geeking out over tools, paint booths, and jigs, we started talking about the future.

We decided to prototype the Hawthorne model first in full CAD 3D, then the Asteria. Those prototypes turned out incredible—and that’s when I knew. This partnership was the way forward.

Hawthorne #1 with Ricardo.

How it works now:

The ordering process is still personal and simple:

1. Video Call – We dream up your build together.

2. Down Payment – Goes straight toward parts + labor.

3. Ricardo – Crafts from raw wood through paint.

4. Will (Mallorie) – Handles assembly, setup, QC, and shipping.

Current lead time: 8 months

Every guitar passes through both of our hands before it gets to yours.

Why not just buy a Ricardo’s Guitar?

Honestly—please do! I wouldn’t have partnered with him if I didn’t believe in his work. If his models speak to you more than mine, support him directly. When you buy a Mallorie, you’re supporting us both—and stepping into a story that’s been years in the making.

Ricardo has been building since 2013. I’ve been building since 2020, with the added perspective of years spent touring and handling world-class guitars. Together, we’re committed to putting more inspiring instruments into more players’ hands.

Together is better.

Mallorie Guitars has never been about being the biggest. It’s about:

Community over competition

Friendship built into every instrument

Craft that lasts a lifetime

With Ricardo’s partnership, that vision only grows stronger.

We can’t wait to build your next guitar.
